Physicochemical, Phytochemical, Qualitative HPTLC and Antioxidant Study of Medicinal Plant Leucas aspera

Introduction: Leucas aspera (family-Lamiaceae) has great therapeutic significance in the Indian system of medicine due to its rich antioxidant activity. The main objective present work was evaluate physicochemical, phytochemical, qualitative high-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC), and study L. in-house mother tincture (alcoholic extract) 2 market samples reputed brands. Materials methods: Three were used for study, in-house-mother (A) (B C). For HPTLC studies, precoated silica gel 60 F254plate used, mobile phase toluene: ethyl acetate: formic acid (7:3:0.3, v/v/v), UV detection performed at 254 366 nm. derivatization,anisaldehyde-sulphuric reagent used. In total phenolic content (TPC), DPPH, ABTS assay studied. Results discussion: Result shows that tinctures prepared by authenticated plant sample showed maximum active constituents prominent activity as compared procured from market. Conclusions: HPTLC, justify medicinal usage Homeopathy. This is reason cure healing property whole extract.
